BiographyHistory

Our only biographical source to date is the cover of her book, which describes her as 'an accomplished writer who has been in print since her mid-teens when she had the good fortune to come to the notice of the author, the late A. J. Buchanan, then editor of the Sydney Daily Telegraph'. It would seem that Marion Maguire lived in Sydney in her teen years and later lived in Adelaide, commuting regularly to Queensland to visit her family. She married a bandsman in the Royal Marines, which gave her the insights for her book. She was involved in various facets of community service, edited women's magazines and the publication Building and Architecture and brought out the first edition of Australian Bride. The cover adds, 'In addition there have been many articles, verse, skits, television plays and books on Huna and Cybernetics.'
