BiographyHistory

Stella M. Churchward Kelly graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Adelaide in 1904. In March, 1914 she married the Reverend Tom Kelly. Tom Kelly was a minister of the Baptist Church and he volunteered for missionary work with the Australian Baptist Missionary Society and left for India in October, 1915. Stella M. Churchward Kelly and her first child joined him in Sirajganj in October, 1916. From that time, apart from some years spent back in Australia, Kelly worked alongside her husband until his retirement from missionary work in 1941. Tom Kelly died in 1953. Stella M. Churchward Kelly is the mother of Mary Macdonald (q.v.).
