BiographyHistory

Gladys Smith married William Jackson and lived with him in Hong Kong for nineteen years. While living there, she contributed verse and articles to Eastern journals. When she and her husband returned to Queensland in 1932, she started writing for the Aubigny Argus, Oakey, where her husband was editor. In 1940 she moved to Brisbane. Gladys Jackson was the sister of Constance Gittins (q.v.).
