Mollie Gillen, who moved overseas in about 1936, also wrote books on the First Fleet as well as a number of biographies. Her subjects included L. M. Montgomery and Spencer Perceval.

  • The exact date of Mollie Gillen's departure from Australia is yet to be established. UK researcher John Herrington notes that Gillen appeared on a passenger list in November 1936, leaving England for New York. Her departure from Australia must have occurred at least some months prior to this.
