Findlay was a leader in the rural reconstruction campaign in Victoria. He edited the
Ouyen Express and
Benalla Standard, had work published in the
Bulletin,
Aussie and
Bohemia, and contributed frequently to Catholic publications. Most of Findlay's poetry in the
Bulletin was published under his initials P. T. F. He also co-founded and edited
Rural Life and was a member of the
Bread and Cheese Club.
