BiographyHistory

Marcela Bole was born in Sepulje, Sezana, Slovenija (then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire). She was educated in Tomaj, then gained a Diploma of Art and Craft in Trieste, Italy. In Australia she worked as a machinist and dress maker. She was a member of the Art Society of Victoria and her writing was appreciated and highly praised around the world. She read her work on 3EA Radio (1979-1993), on Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney ethnic broadcasting services, and on Ljubljana Radio (Slovenia). She read and discussed her poetry at various Slovenian clubs throughout Victoria.
