BiographyHistory

Michael Hughes spent his childhood in Glasgow before joining the Merchant Navy as an Engineering Officer. Following this time he moved to Essex and worked in a nuclear power plant. Hughes' belief that security at nuclear power stations is inadequate has influenced his novels Kommando 55 and The Infiltrator.

Hughes migrated to Australia in the early 1980s and took up residence in New South Wales. His recreational activites include painting, drawing and wood-carving.
