BiographyHistory

Michael Salmon began his artistic career soon after leaving school. He joined the marionette troupe 'The Tintookies' in 1968 as a stage manager / trainee designer and for ten years (1978-1988) ran his own show 'Alexander Bunyip's Billabong'. His books include the Alexander Bunyip books adapted from a program he created for ABC Television called Alexander's Afternoon. He has held exhibitions of his artwork and has worked extensively with school groups. Salmon has written and illustrated prolifically for children and has also created picture books in various series (see list of publications) and including Dinosaur Swamp (a series of readers).
