BiographyHistory

H. B. Simpkins was educated at Dulwich College and at St John's, Oxford. He travelled widely, serving in World War I and commanding a Chinese labour battalion on the Western Front. After the war he lived in the Far East before joining the staff of St Peter's School Collegiate in Adelaide in 1920. He taught science, especially chemistry, at S.P.S.C.and in his latter years was in charge of geography. He retired at the end of second term in 1947.

Simpkins also published Chemistry Notebook for the Laboratory and Classroom (1936)
