BiographyHistory

Hamilton Lamb was the son of William and Sarah Lamb. He had a twin sister, Florence.He was educated at Stawell High School and Melbourne University, where he studied Arts and Law. From 1923 until 1926, he was Head Master of Geelong Grammar Prep. School, later a lecturer in English and Economics at the Gordon Institute of Technology, Geelong (1927-1930), and then Principal of Kyneton College (1931-1935).

He entered state parliament in 1935, as Member for Lowan, Victoria.He joined the A.I.F. in 1940 and served in the Middle East and Java. He was taken prisoner in February 1942 and died of illness in a prisoner of war camp.
