BiographyHistory

Alfred Waterworth worked as a bookseller before applying to become a teacher with the Tasmanian Education Department in 1901. He taught at Wattle Hill and Flowerdale State Schools before undertaking teacher training at the Melbourne Teachers' College in 1906. He subsequently served as a primary school Head Teacher at Oatlands (1907-8) Queenstown (1910-12) Beaconsfield (1913-14) and Launceston (Glen Dhu school, 1915-36).
