Boyd Cunningham Campbell Thomson was the second son the of the late Campbell Thomson of Clydebank House, Sale, Gippsland. He spent the six years from 1907 to 1912 at Scotch College, Melbourne and enlisted on June 13th 1915.
He wrote his poetry between the ages of 15 and 19 and most were published between 1910 and 1912. Thomson was killed in Action in France on 8th November 1916.
