BiographyHistory

Son of the Reverend Palmer Law, Archibald Law was educated at Trinity College, University of Melbourne and became canon and rector at Wangaratta Cathedral in 1909 and later vicar at St John's, Toorak. He was president of several societies including the Victorian Prohibition League and the British & Foreign Bible Society. Law edited various church papers and wrote religious plays. He also published popular booklets and pamphlets, among them The Bible as History (1941), How the Church Came to Us in Australia : An Anglo-Australian Church of England History (6th ed. 1922), In the Valley of Shadow : Words of Comfort in Sorrow (1934), and publications intended for church service and religious education.
