BiographyHistory

Eva Ransom was the daughter of 19th century Melbourne auctioneer and property developer Hugh Peck. She married Eugene Ransom in Melbourne in January 1887, and in the following years they lived at Mt Nicholas, in north-eastern Tasmania, and then at Gisborne, just north of Melbourne. In the mid 1890s she and her husband returned to Mt Nicholas, where they took up a farm. During World War I, her son Dudley served in the 12th Battalion AIF.
