BiographyHistory

It is not certain that the same Helen Hudson wrote all three of the novels listed. It is very likely that The Red Road and Flames in the Wind are by the same person (probably Helen Eileen L. Hudson, b. 1881 East Maitland, NSW). However, as The Musk Shop was published many years later, there must be some doubt about whether it is by the same author. Miller and Macartney notes another work by Helen Hudson Only a Pitman: A Story of Northern Colliery Life (1912), but this novel is almost certainly by a different Helen Hudson. It has an English setting and is written in conjunction with Robert Hudson, an English author.
