BiographyHistory

J. B. Holmes was a Minister of the Brethren's Congregation in Dublin. During the period 1830-1844, he published several of his sermons, the history of his church's missionary work, and a monograph: History of the Protestant Church of the United Brethren (ca. 1830).

Holmes' sole Australian work, a poem entitled The Rationalism of Christianity, seems to have been published posthumously. It is not clear how much time he spent in Australia, but his publishing history suggests he may have visited or emigrated as a missionary.
