BiographyHistory

Elza Abele has written and published poetry and some short stories in Daugava, in pre-war Latvia, and notably in the Australian Latvian newspaper Australijas Latvietis and the British journal Cela Zimes. Abele gained a Masters of Philology from Riga University, Latvia and worked in Australia from 1955 to 1964 as a primary school teacher.
