BiographyHistory

"It seems likely that the author, who contributed other poems to the Hobart Town Magazine, was Frances Hannah (nee Arndell), wife of Lieutenant William Gunn, and if so, being born in Sydney she would probably be the first woman of Australian birth who wrote verses in Australia and had them published there. See Pressmen and Governors, by E.Morris Miller (1952)." (Miller & Macartney)
