N. J. Cocks was the author of the verse leaflets 'Hymns of Intercession in the Present Time of War' (1917?) and 'Hymns of Thanksgiving for Victory' (1918?). He wrote the words of "Prince's Men" (1922), the Prince Alfred College, Adelaide, school song - music by Ernest Edwin Mitchell. He was also joint author, with T. E. Ruth, of a book of sermons, Easter Day in Pitt Street [192-].
