BiographyHistory

'David Dale writes about ideas, journeys, fads, foods, the power of places and the peculiarities of people. He graduated from Sydney University with honours in psychology, but decided he would do less harm to the cause of mental health if he went into journalism.'

Dale has been a political reporter, sub-editor and editor for a range of Australian, British and North American newspapers and magazines. He was editor of the Bulletin from February 1988 to March 1990. Dale has also worked as a breakfast broadcaster on ABC Radio.

Dale has written travel books and memoirs. His newspaper writing has focused on anthropology, travel and popular culture.
