BiographyHistory

Birmingham was an artist and illustrator who studied with Julian Ashton at the Sydney Art School. She also illustrated works by Amy and Louise Mack (qq.v.).

Critics have described Birmingham's illustrations of children as beautiful, carefully dressed and aesthetically placed in full-page designs. Her sight failed in 1938, curtailing her career.
