Notes

  • Sir William à Beckett used the pen name 'O. B.'. It is not known whether or not this author is à Beckett, but the possbility exists that it is.

The Australasian Chronicle, in a column reporting on the opening of the Royal City Theatre in Sydney, New South Wales in May 1843 published the opening address, 'from the pen of the Solicitor-General' (23 May, 1843): 2. This is evidence that this author is probably à Beckett.
