BiographyHistory

Founded by Jane Covernton and Sue Williams in 1997, 'Working Title Press is a small, independent Australian publishing house that specialises in quality picture books and illustrated fiction and non-fiction for children between the ages of 0-11.'

Its director, Jane Covernton, formerly of Omnibus Books, is dedicated to showcasing the work of new and established writers and illustrators and to introducing children to the power of story - both visual and verbal.

A core part of the Working Title Press list is its Indigenous subject matter, which includes six traditional Dreaming Narratives featuring the artwork of Indigenous children from central and north-west Australia.'

In addition, other Working Title Press picture book titles are set in Australia.

In June 2017, Jane Covernton sold Working Title Press imprint and backlist to HarperCollins Australia, on her retirement. Since 1 July 2017, Working Title Press has operated as an imprint of HarperCollins.
