BiographyHistory

As a teenager Don Oakley moved with his family to take up land in the Mallee district of South Australia. He served with the RAAF during the Second World War and then returned to the family property at Karoonda. Oakley started the Wimmera Authors' Group at Horsham, Victoria, and was also known as a musician. He played for several years on the PS Murray River Queen.
