BiographyHistory

Little is known about Karl Evans and Associates, other than the fact that it was established in the Sydney suburb of Balmain by a literature enthusiast who decided to start a publishing venture without knowing much about the industry. Only one title is known to have published by the press: Richard Harland's Testimony. According to Harland in a Tabula Rasa interview, he approached the owner (whose name was not Karl Evans) some years later with a view to releasing his novel The Vicar of Morbing Vyle, but discovered that the publisher had closed the press down. After being offered the rights to the name, Harland published his novel himself using the slightly altered trade name Karl Evans Publishing.
