BiographyHistory

Established in 1899 as the University Press of Liverpool, and renamed in 1955 as Liverpool University Press, this press has published the work both of scholars at the university and in the wider Liverpool community. The Press has been self-funded for most of its history, and its mainstays have been academic journals, notably Town Planning Review. In recent years the Press has produced a modest number of books, usually on commission, and is financially supported by the University of Liverpool.
