BiographyHistory

Miegunyah Press takes its name from Miegunyah, in Orrong Road Toorak, the home of Lady Mab and Sir Russell Grimwade from 1911 to 1955. 'Miegunyah' is an Aboriginal word meaning 'my house'.

The Miegunyah Press is a special imprint of Melbourne University Publishing. The press began in late 1967 at the suggestion of Sir Russell Grimwade (1879-1955), businessman, philanthropist and passionate collector of Australiana, especially books and paintings concerned with Australia's European beginnings. It is supported by a bequest from the Grimwade family and allows MUP to produce books of enduring quality with the highest production standards.
