BiographyHistory

Peter Baker established Falcon Press in London after the Second World War, in partnership with Charles Wrey Gardiner, director of Grey Walls Press. Both small scale publishers of poetry, the two presses shared staff and offices in London.

Baker ran up enormous debts at Falcon Press, forged signatures on financial documents, and was sentenced to seven years in prison. Falcon Press ceased at this time, in 1954.
