BiographyHistory

Fanfrolico Press was founded by Jack Lindsay and John Kirtley, its first publication being a deluxe edition of Lindsay's Lysistrata. In 1926 Lindsay and Kirtley travelled to England and established contact with P. R. Stephensen. The following year, Kirtley returned to Australia and Stephensen became Fanfrolico's press manager. Lindsay's father, Norman Lindsay provided cash assistance during difficult financial periods and he also contributed the illustrations for some of Fanfrolico's publications. In addition to monograph publications, Franfrolico also published the journal London Aphrodite which ran for six issues.

In late December 1930, the press was declared bankrupt.
