BiographyHistory

In 1975 - International Women's Year - Hecate Press was founded by Carole Ferrier with the publication of Hecate, an international women's journal. The original editorial group included Carmel Shute, Tricia Nilvor, Nancy Peck, Mari Anna Shaw, Merle Thornton and Clare Williams. Since 1978, while focusing on the publication of Hecate, Hecate Press has also published occasional books, beginning with the anthology Hecate's Daughters ( first edition 1978; second edition 1979).
