BiographyHistory

The Alternative Publishing Co-operative was established as an antidote to 'the stranglehold of foreign publishers in this country', which were 'killing opportunities for the new, the innovative and the controversial to be heard', and sought to publish 'without fear or favour'. The Alternative Publishing Co. published politically motivated non-fiction titles, such as An Alternative History of Indonesia and The American Connection (about Pine Gap), as well as fiction such as The Morality of Gentlemen and Karobran. Members received 33 per cent discount on all book purchases.
