BiographyHistory

Frank Sheed and his wife Maisie Ward founded Sheed and Ward in London in 1926; in 1933 the New York office opened. It specialised in Catholic literature. In 1973 the company was sold to Universal Press Syndicate in New York City. The imprint was changed to Sheed, Andrews and McMeel, then Andrews and McMeel and finally Andrews, McMeel and Parker.
