BiographyHistory

Ian Henderson grew up in Melbourne and Tasmania. He completed his PhD at the University of Sydney in 2001, and then lectured at Griffith University. In 2004 he took up a position as lecturer at the Menzies Centre. His research concentrates on the history of reading, with a focus on mid-Victorian British and Australian colonial literary culture; and Australian film. He has been the editor of 'Studies in Australasian Cinema' and been involved in the 'Reverse Diaspora: Australian Expatriate Writers in Britain 1830-2010' project with Professor Bruce Bennett and Dr Anne Pender.
