BiographyHistory

Kate Fagan is a Sydney-based poet, musician, songwriter and editor. Formerly the editor of US-based journal of poetics How2, she was, in 2018, convening the English major at Western Sydney University. As a poet, her collection First Light was shortlisted for the NSW Premier's Literary Awards in 2013.

Fagan holds a BA Hons and PhD, both from the University of Sydney.

It explores the threshold between things and words, seeking out places where music and language are equal in charting human experience. Some poems sample from other writers to create new works, often as gifts for friends.
