BiographyHistory

Vintage Books was founded in 1954 by Alfred A. Knopf. The firm has a wide-ranging publishing list, which encompasses both influential works of world literature and contemporary fiction and non-fiction. Since the acquisition of Knopf by the Bertelsmann group in 1998 Vintage has been an imprint of Random House.

Vintage also runs the imprint Vintage International, which reprints classic and literary fiction.
