Patrick has been a soldier, barman, fisherman, artist, steward and truckdriver and "began writing to escape the boredom of wartime life in the Australian Army". (Book jacket of Weave a Circle). As William Lambe, he has also published Hymen The God, a copy of which has not been traced.
