BiographyHistory

A graduate from the Victorian College of the Arts in 1981, Andrea Lemon has worked as a barmaid, stand-up comedian and artists' model, as well as working freelance as actor, writer and director with various theatre companies in Melbourne. In 1988 she was writer in residence at Toe Truck Theatre in Sydney.

Lemon was recognised with the ABC Fringe Award for Best Script for Walking on Sticks (written with Sarah Cathcart q.v.) and was nominated for an Edinburgh Fringe First Award for Best Production (The Serpent's Fall, with Sarah Cathcart) and an Awgie Award (Dead Set Straight). As writer/director for physical theatre, Lemon was appointed as the third artistic director of Melbourne's Women's Circus in 2001.
