BiographyHistory

Nothing much is known about Mrs Howe except that she taught at the Methodist Ladies' College, SA. As well as her published play she wrote a masque, The Empire's Call (1915) which the school produced in aid of the Red Cross Society's funds, and which 'gave in a most interesting way a vivid picture of the extent and resources of the British Empire' (quoted from the introduction to the play The Changelings). It was produced by the Methodist Ladies' College at their 'Patriotic Entertainments' in the Unley City Hall, 1915. She left MLC in 1916 after 'several years good service'.
