BiographyHistory

Meredith Daneman's career included dance, modelling and writing. She won a scholarship from Sydney to the Royal Ballet School in London in 1959, and after studying she joined the Australian Ballet Company. In 1965 she married the British Shakespearian actor Paul Daneman, and from then lived permanently in England. She left dancing and took up modelling when she had her first daughter at the age of 23. She had published her first book in 1964, before leaving Australia; a collection of poems and photographs (as Meredith Kinmont). Later, in England, she published four novels and a bestselling biography of the celebrated ballerina Margot Fonteyn.

Daneman is the daughter of Joan Kinmont, sister of Felicity Fair Thompson and niece of Rosamond Kinmont-Sharp (qq.v.)
