BiographyHistory

Andrea Garivaldis was born in 1958 in Kato Zodia-Morphou, Cyprus and migrated with her parents to Australia in 1975. She holds a Master of Arts in Diasporic Literature from RMIT University, a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education (ESL, Greek, Humanities) from Monash University, a Diploma in Interpreting and Translating from the National Accredited Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI), and a Diploma in Information Technology from Monash University. Garivaldis has received prizes for her poetry, some of which has appeared in anthologies in Australia, Greece (Poietries hellenikes katagoges ste Voreia Amerike, Australia kai Germania), Cyprus (Xeniteia: anthologia), and America (Poetic Voices of America, 1997).
