Jacqui Murray was one of the founding editors of the publishing organisation, Paper Wasp, established in 1988 with support from Japanese haiku masters. Murray and other founders have been involved in the promotion of haiku by such means as the biennial World Haiku Contest for children sponsored by the JAL Foundation in twenty-seven nations.
