BiographyHistory

Pamela Ruskin arrived in Australia with her family 1926. She attended St Catherine's Girls School and then graduated with an arts degree from the University of Melbourne. Ruskin worked as a freelance journalist and served in the RAN during World World II in the decoding section.

Ruskin married Alfred Ruskin, a Jewish refugee, printer and publisher, and raised their four children while continuing her freelance career. She contributed regularly to Australian Jewish News, was a judge for the Green Room Awards and (in 1970) won a Walkley Award for an article on Barry Humphries.
