Having spent most of her life as a working mother supporting a 'large family of daughters', Ann Davis decided in 1992 to concentrate full-time on her writing. In 1998 she was based in Sydney, and was a convenor of the Women Writers' Network. In 2001 she was one of two Deputy Chairs of the XXI World Congress of Poets.
