Poet and marine scientist, Janine Baker lived in various places in Australia and Papua New Guinea before settling in Adelaide, South Australia, where she worked as a marine biologist.
Baker's poetry focuses on environmental and social justice themes and was published in print journals and online, read on radio and performed live. Her first collection, Circus Earth, was published through the Friendly Street New Poets Series; Series number 13 in association with Wakefield Press in 2008.
