By 2024, Nikki Gemmell had published eight novels, six children's books, and two autobiographies, including one that dealt with the aftermath of her mother's suicide. Her work has been translated into many languages. She is best known as the author of the novel The Bride Stripped Bare, originally published anonymously.
Gemmell has been a columnist for the Weekend Australian's Saturday magazine, and a Friday regular on the Today programme in Australia.
Born in Wollongong, Australia, Nikki Gemmell lived in London for many years but later returned to Australia with her family.
