BiographyHistory

Bennett wrote a number of children's books and novels before migrating to Australia in the 1970s, including Jamie (1963), Mister Fisherman (1964), The Hawk Alone (1965), and Ocean Road (1967). He edited The Earth beneath Me: Dick Smith's Epic Journey across the World (1982) and A Photo Album: The ABC from 1932 to 1982 (1982). He began working as a cadet reporter in 1957, and went on to join the Australian Broadcasting Commission in 1974.
