BiographyHistory

Jill Hellyer contributed to the founding of The Australian Society of Authors (ASA). She was the ASA's first executive secretary (1963-1971) and was eventually made a life member for her dedication. Over many years she was a poetry contributor to literary magazines, such as Westerly, Southerly, Meanjin, and Overland. She also edited a biographical work, Fifty Years in Psychaitry: D. W. H. Arnott (1980) and Tomb It May Concern: Epitaphs for the Living and the Dead (1993).
