Pat Darby moved to Western Australia in 1972 and graduated as a mature age student from Murdoch University (in Literature and Psychology). She practiced as a psychologist for ten years. Darby has been active in the Western Australian literary scene for many years as a member of the Australian Society of Authors, the Society of Women Writers and the Fellowship of Australian Writers (WA).
Patricia Darby was editor of Sudden Alchemy (q.v.).
