BiographyHistory

Dr John Long has been a palaeontologist and curator at the Western Australian Museum. He graduated from Monash University and has held research positions at several other universities. Dr Long has undertaken palaeontological expeditions in Australia, Antarctica, Thailand and Vietnam.

In 2001 Dr Long was awarded the Industry, Science and Resources Eureka Prize for the Promotion of Science. In 2006, he won the Wilderness Society's Environment Award for Children's Literature (Non-Fiction) for The Big Picture Book (2005).
