BiographyHistory

Deniehy's novel Love at First Sight was published in 1844, when he was 16, in the Colonial Literary Journal. In 1859 he founded and edited Southern Cross. He was editor of the Victorian 1862-64.

Deniehy was a member of the NSW Parliament in the period 1857-60. It was during this time that he gained the nickname 'Twank'.
